Testing, Promotion and Graduation Requirements

Upon our initial meeting and at regular intervals thereafter, our students can take standardized tests to see how they compare with other students of public and private schools. The school uses Anne Marie Roeper's Q and A method to determine your child's ability to undertake gifted education successfully in various subjects. We also have subject specific tests to place students in particular classes at our school or to assign them places in an individualized program.

Students who wish to graduate from The School of Choice must meet the graduation requirements of The School of Choice day school. However, they can do so from home with guidance from their parents. The school will also accept credits from other institutions and classes that they take (e.g. Johns Hopkins, community colleges, their local Karate instructor for PE).

Each year, on a special night, we will honor students who graduate and those who are promoted to the next grade. Yearly and quarterly transcripts will also reflect the student’s progress, both in terms of grades and also comments that help students to do better.
